The young antifascist resister Nestor makes attempt to escape from prison. The bullet heavily wounds him. After a few tense hours, the surgeon professor Andronikov removes the bullet stuck in the heart. However, Nestor is to be tortured in the police station. The professor makes his case in front of the health minister who promises to help him. After a few days, the minister tells that Nestor has to express regret for his actions and offer the authorities certain information. The doctor refuses to convince his patient to do that. A black car drives the young man in an unknown direction.
